Nurturing Nannies requires a high level of quality and care from all Nannies and Babysitters. An appropriate level of professionalism and presentation must be maintained at all times. Requirements include a current first aid certificate, a minimum of two years experience working with children and a Working with Children Check Clearance through the NSW Commission for Working with Children and Young People from all members of the Nurturing Nannies team. Extra studies and qualifications are also recommended. Each applicant must have a face to face interview with the directors of Nurturing Nannies where a resume must be presented.
The First Aid Certificate is a mandatory requirement of Nurturing Nannies. The St John’s ‘Caring for Kids’ First Aid Certificate is preferred as they are more suitable for the care of young children. It is the responsibility of the Carer to ensure their First Aid Certificate is valid and updated when necessary. Nurturing Nannies is unable to place any Nanny or Babysitter in a position if their First Aid Certificate has expired.
St John Ambulance Australia: www.stjohn.org.auA minimum of two years experience can include a variety of roles such as babysitting or nanny positions, working in childcare centres, preschools, before and after school care, primary school, etc. Nurturing Nannies requires at least 2-3 relevant references to verify all child related experience. These references must be written with contactable referees. It is also important to refer to previous experience within the age group you intend to work. Babysitting positions however range from children (birth to teenagers) which would require experience with a variety of age groups. Although two years experience is a minimal requirement, the more experience the more desirable!
Qualifications are not a necessity although are often favoured by many families seeking a Nanny or Babysitter. These may include, TAFE, University, Specialised courses, Life Saving Certificates, etc. Nurturing Nannies requires a copy of any relevant qualifications for verification.
